 There are two levels of consultant:

  • Level 1 – Entry Level or promoted into role Requires 2 years of consulting experience and/or 4 years of relevant experience in the areas of: organizational change management, project management, stakeholder management or communications.
  • Level 2 – Experienced Requires 4 years of consulting experience and/or 6 years of relevant experience in the areas of: organizational change management, project management, stakeholder management or communications.

Project Location(s): Client location (Bay Area, but must be open to travel to other cities or states as required)

Key Responsibilities
As a consultant, you will drive work and manage a scope of work under the direction of Nimble and grow quickly in your responsibilities. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Support one or more scopes of work (same or different clients) immediately under Nimble.
  • Learn Nimble systems, how we work as a team and our brand of client service and apply to projects.
  • Learn or apply frameworks for organizing client deliverables -- your client role may change in terms of the functional area or type of work you perform for that project; you will come up to speed quickly on client-specific frameworks and ensure the team has the necessary knowledge for success.
  • Lead workstreams within a client project, which includes the following:
    • Support the maintenance of a project plan once it has been first developed.
    • Manage all client deliverables that you own.
    • Structure work for your deliverables and reprioritize unplanned events as they occur.
    • Communicate regularly with your lead regarding risks and deadlines within your project(s).
    • Learn quickly the tools, knowledge, and frameworks that need to be applied to client deliverables.
  • Be responsive to team needs (weekly priorities, completing work in a timely manner for review cycles).
  • Participate in and be prepared for team meetings, one-on-one check-ins with your team and client meetings.
  • Keep up with your calendar, meetings, inbox, and organization of information.
    • Keep up with both client and non-client activities and responsibilities (events, deliverables, etc.).
  • Support operations of Nimble: recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, marketing, research or events hosted by Nimble for clients or recruits.
  • Contribute to team events, team culture, and ways to improve how we work across our client locations.
  • Must be able to be physically on-site with the Nimble team at the client location 5 days a week due to the type of consulting services we offer and our partnering approach with clients.
  • Must be willing and able to travel for client work (multiple clients or multiple sites for a client).
  • Strong references required for consideration, preferably from clients or direct supervisors.

Note: Travel as required by the client (Currently travel is in the Bay Area only, but there could be client work requiring further travel as needed)

Requirements for both Level 1 & 2

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Relevant consulting experience or experience in the areas of: organizational change management, project management, stakeholder management or communications.
  • Experience with survey development and analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience authoring discrete deliverables end to end with an external client on a regular basis with consistent levels of quality.
  • Demonstrated experience working across organizational boundaries and interfacing with related projects that will affect your work or your project team’s scope of work.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; excellent writer and presenter.
  • Demonstrated experience working in teams and groups effectively.
    • Comfortable facilitating and driving meetings with a planned agenda.
    • Successfully developing and managing working relationships.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Excellent written skills (professional emails, presentations, research papers).
    • Open to regular feedback from supervisors, peers, and clients on deliverables, presentation style, perception management, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting end-user demonstrations of new ways of working (technology, process, organizational change).
  • Proficient in technology and adept at learning new applications and methodologies quickly.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn new applications and technology.
    • Demonstrated examples of learning new frameworks (change management, training, process analysis, etc.) and applying them to your work.
  • Must be willing and able to travel for client work.
  • Strong references required for consideration, preferably from clients or direct supervisors.

Requirements for Level 2

  • Demonstrated experience leading multiple scopes of work at the same time (internal operations and external clients) or leading multiple projects with different clients.
  • Ability to kick off a project and structure the work and team based on the scope of work.
  • Can develop a project plan, structure the work, deliverables, dependencies, and touchpoints across workstreams for the team prior to kickoff.
  • Understands and can articulate how their deliverables support the larger project goals.
  • Understands concepts such as “scope creep” and how to manage discussions with the client and escalate appropriately to the Nimble team.
  • Demonstrated experience identifying touchpoints with related projects and how that may be an opportunity for Nimble Consulting from a business development perspective.
  • Experience conducting stakeholder analyses and using that input to design the appropriate engagement strategy in partnership with other project leads and the client for a holistic view of the end users.
  • Ability to coach and mentor junior staff, interns on their work, how to work with clients, learning systems or frameworks, etc.

Preferred

  • Project management skills: problem solving, tracking work, status reports, risk management.
  • Experience in working collaboratively within diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience with SharePoint, Outlook, Microsoft Project, Visio (process mapping).
